Business Analyst

Custom Software Systems, Inc. (CSS) is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in Wealth Management and enterprise financial services. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting technology and business transformation initiatives within a large financial institution, investment firm, brokerage, or wealth management organization.

This individual will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating complex wealth management business needs into clear functional and technical requirements and supporting initiatives throughout the project and software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Wealth Management, Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and other stakeholders to identify and document business requirements.
• Elicit, analyze, document, and validate complex business and functional requirements.
• Translate Wealth Management business processes and user needs into detailed requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, and working sessions.
• Analyze current-state processes and identify opportunities for process, technology, and client-experience improvements.
• Support initiatives involving wealth management platforms, advisor technology, investment products, client onboarding and servicing, portfolio management, financial planning, or related capabilities.
• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, development teams, QA, product management, and project leadership.
• Support Agile/Scrum delivery teams throughout design, development, testing, implementation, and business readiness.
• Identify dependencies, business risks, regulatory considerations, and operational impacts.
• Support UAT, requirements traceability, issue resolution, and implementation activities.
• Communicate complex business and technical information clearly to stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.

Required Qualifications

• 7 years of Business Analysis or closely related experience within complex enterprise environments.
• Significant professional experience within Wealth Management, Private Wealth, Investment Management, Brokerage, or a closely related financial-services environment.
• Experience working within a large financial institution such as Fidelity Investments, Merrill Lynch/Bank of America, Charles Schwab, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, UBS, Wells Fargo, Vanguard, or a comparable organization strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of Wealth Management business processes and investment-related workflows.
• Experience gathering and documenting business, functional, and system requirements.
• Experience working across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience partnering with both business and technology organizations.
• Strong stakeholder-management, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, SharePoint, or comparable enterprise tools.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with advisor platforms, client onboarding, portfolio management, managed accounts, investment products, financial planning, or HNW/private wealth solutions.
• Experience supporting enterprise technology modernization or digital transformation initiatives.
• Knowledge of financial-services regulatory, risk, and compliance environments.
• IIBA/CBAP, Scrum, Product Owner, or related certifications.
