As we enter the next phase of our growth journey, we are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead our US operation. This is a rare opportunity for a commercially astute and operationally strong leader to take ownership of a growing business and play a pivotal role in its future success.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will have full responsibility for site performance, operational execution, customer delivery, commercial success, and P&L management. Leading a multi-functional team across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, project delivery, and business support functions, you will be responsible for driving performance, strengthening organisational capability, and delivering sustainable growth.
This is not a role for someone content with maintaining the status quo. We are looking for a leader who thrives on challenge, embraces accountability, and has a proven ability to deliver transformational change whilst maintaining a relentless focus on customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic and operational leadership across all areas of the business
Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and organisational effectiveness
Deliver strong financial performance with full P&L accountability
Lead and develop high-performing teams, creating a culture of ownership and accountability
Strengthen customer relationships and support commercial growth initiatives
Ensure successful execution and delivery of complex customer programmes and projects
Develop and implement business strategies aligned with Group objectives and long-term growth plans
Champion best practice, governance, compliance, and operational discipline
About You
You will be an accomplished General Manager, Operations Director, Site Leader or senior manufacturing executive with a track record of delivering results within a manufacturing, engineering, or technically complex environment.
- You will bring:
Proven experience leading manufacturing operations and business transformation
Strong commercial and financial acumen, including P&L responsibility
Experience driving organisational change and performance improvement
Exceptional leadership capability with a proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams
Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management experience
The credibility, resilience, and presence to influence at all levels of an organisation
Experience within battery technology, aerospace, defence, electronics, medical devices, or other highly regulated, customer-driven industries would be advantageous.
