What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Technician / Industrial Apprentice position at Custom Powder Coating Services Inc.?
About Us: Look, we aren't your typical soul-crushing corporate factory. We are a tight-knit, fast-growing custom fabrication and powder coating shop that runs hard, listens to loud music, and takes immense pride in building cool stuff. We are a clean, professional, and 100% drug-free crew who actually enjoys coming to work. We don’t expect you to be a master wizard on day one, but we are looking for our future right-hand person—someone we can train up, treat right, and eventually grow into a key person in our operation.
What’s In It For You (The Good Stuff):
- Direct Access to the Boss: No middle management corporate BS. Your ideas actually matter here.
- Zero Boredom: Our projects and demands change daily. If you like doing the same robotic task 8,000 times a day, go work at Amazon.
- Grow As We Grow: Help us expand this business and your opportunities will grow.
- Money Talks: You stop mistakes, solve problems, and free up the boss? You get a raise. Simple as that. We believe people who create value should have the opportunity to earn more.
- Paid Time Off: 2 weeks of paid time off annually to go recharge your batteries.
Who You Are:
- The MacGyver: You probably grew up fixing tractors on a farm, tearing down engines in your garage, or breaking things just to fix them.
- A Natural Born Learner: You have curiosity, common sense, and strong problem-solving skills. If you don't know how to do something, you don't stare at the wall—you figure it out, hit YouTube, or ask a smart question.
- High Initiative: You take pride in your work. If you mess it up the first time (it happens), you make damn sure you nail it the next time.
- The "Anti-Excuse" Guy: When you see the boss doing heavy lifting, your first instinct is to jump in and say, "Why the hell are you doing that? Let me take it."
What You’ll Do:
- Learn the art of high-end custom powder coating and sandblasting (we will fully train you).
- Work side-by-side with the owner on welding, assembly, and random rad shop improvement projects.
- Stay three steps ahead of the workflow instead of waiting around to be told what to do.
- Bring your brain to work. If you see a faster, better, or safer way to get a job done, speak up. We want to learn from you, too.
- Keep your work area clean enough that we don't trip over your tools.
The Fine Print:
- Grit Required: You need a good work ethic and the ability to safely lift 75 lbs, work on your feet, and handle a hot shop environment with a good attitude.
- The Standard: You must be reliable, professional, and able to pass a drug screen.
- Language: English or Spanish speakers welcome! (Habla español es más que bienvenido aquí).
Pay: $17.00 - $26.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Employee discount
- Paid time off
People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply
Work Location: In person
Salary : $17 - $26
