Position Summary
Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities – This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to maintain blow mold equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. This position must also follow all required food safety guidelines and procedures to include but not limited to: Food Safety Policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Maintenance Practices, Amcor Safety and Work Guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks including:
- Maintaining correct fluid levels on machines.
- Changing compressed air filters.
- Polishing molds and greasing/oiling equipment.
- Inspecting and replacing pneumatic, water, and oil lines.
- Changing air filters and configuring machines for new bottle sizes.
- Rebuild mechanical assemblies such as stretch rod cylinders and blow nozzles.
- Conduct air leak checks and report findings.
- Assist with spare parts inventory management, including organizing and storing parts.
- Complete accurate documentation for all maintenance and repair activities.
- Perform general cleaning around blow mold machines and compressors.
- Support mechanics with complex repairs and advanced preventive maintenance tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications
Understanding machine operation and how to check machine temperature and increase temperature appropriately to prepare for machine production
- Able to calibrate programmer, “zero out” the machine to ensure accurate machine performance and measurements
- Obtain customer specifications from last production run
- Load program and review specifications in preparation for production
- Review each early part of conformance/nonconformance to specifications
- Check cycle time, product weight and visual integrity of the parts which have not yet received first part approval from the Quality Department.
- Receive first part approval from QA and begin production in coordination with safety manager and Manufacturing Supervisor.
- Adhere to safety policies and guidelines Work Environment.
This job will be performed in a production setting that is climate controlled, with moderate noise levels. This role will routinely work around and on production equipment, will operate computers, hand tools, forklifts, and handle raw materials. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment for the position. Physical Demands Climbing occasionally, stooping occasionally, crouching occasionally, standing for 8 or more hours per day, walking frequently, pushing frequently, pulling frequently, gasping frequently, repetitive motions frequently. Must be able to use and maneuver small hand tools and/or power tools; Able to Wear Necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Prior experience of 3 years on the job required.
