What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cabinet Maker / Millwork Fabricator position at Custom Mica Shop, Inc.?
We fabricate custom cabinets and architectural millwork for hotels, resorts, restaurants, offices, and high-end residential kitchens. No two projects are alike — one month you might be laminating casework for a resort lobby, the next assembling custom kitchen cabinetry. If you like variety and take pride in finished work, this shop is a good fit.
What You'll Do
- Assemble custom cabinets and casework from shop drawings
- Apply plastic laminate (cutting, gluing, trimming, edge banding)
- Fabricate architectural millwork components
- Problem-solve on the fly — custom work means finding solutions, not following one routine
- Handle physical shop work: lifting, standing, and moving material daily
What We're Looking For
- 3 years of hands-on experience in cabinet assembly, laminating, or millwork (more experience = higher starting pay)
- Ability to read shop drawings and work to tight tolerances
- Reliable, safety-minded, and comfortable with physical work
- Valid driver's license (required)
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, not a requirement
Pay & Growth
- Starting pay $25–$30 /hour depending on experience
- Skill-based raises: as you demonstrate proficiency, your rate goes up. We'd rather pay more for someone who can do more.
