Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Inventory Planner Scheduler to join our supply chain team. The Inventory Planner/Scheduler is responsible for managing inventory levels, coordinating production and/or procurement schedules, and ensuring the timely availability of materials to meet customers’ demands while minimizing inventory costs. This role balances supply and demand by analyzing forecasts, monitoring stock levels, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory performance and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- · Forecasting demand for products and creating inventory plans to ensure availability of stock.
- Develops, maintains, and controls a realistic master production schedule by balancing sales and marketing requirements with manufacturing capacity and parts availability.
- Create work orders based upon sales orders to make comprehensive list of materials, components, sub-assemblies, and parts needed to manufacture products.
- Distribute work orders to appropriate production personnel.
- Monitor appropriate stock levels to support business goals while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory and analyzing inventory levels and product demands.
- Working closely with Procurement Manager to ensure timely ordering and delivery of stock.
- Performs “What if” analyses to aid in optimal scheduling, priorities, and decision making.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and ensure regular reconciliation.
- Develop and manage production, procurement, and/or replenishment schedules.
- Adjust schedules based on demand fluctuations, supply issues, and/or operational constraints.
- Review demand forecasts and upcoming orders and collaborate with Sales and Marketing Manager and Inventory Manager.
- Balance supply with demand and implement inventory control systems to reduce stockouts and overstock situations.
- Identify risks and create contingency plans for supply disruptions.
- Regularly reviewing and adjusting inventory plans based on actual sales.
- Collaborating with procurement, field workers, and operations.
- Monitoring and report on key inventory metrics like stock turnover, fill rates, and stockouts.
- Identifying opportunities to reduce waste, streamline operations, and improve inventory turns.
- Ensuring compliance with supply chain practices and CMS Cooling, LLC’s inventory control procedures.
- Implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Perform critical inventory tasks to ensure the correct number of items are in stock by performing routine cycle counting audits.
- Enter and maintain updated and accurate records of inventory, including transfers and cycle counts into ERP system (e.g., Netsuite or similar systems) to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Review documentation and monitor product codes to search for discrepancies; troubleshoot quantity discrepancies between stock and records.
- Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures to maximize efficiency and cut operations costs.
- Respond to sales inquiries and purchase orders; collect and analyze data to determine appropriate order quantities.
- Track rates of accuracy, purchase, and return as well as defective items to inform quality control decisions.
- Prepare, generate, and file inventory reports; review reports monthly with management.
- Generate reports on inventory performance and scheduling efficiency.
- Use ERP/MRP systems to manage inventory and scheduling processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline inventory and scheduling operations.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cycle counting planning and scheduling activities.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management preferred, Business Administration, or extensive experience in related field.
- Three to five plus years of experience in inventory planning, production scheduling, or supply chain roles.
- Proven work experience as an inventory planner scheduler or similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports.
- An analytical mind with strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Experience in manufacturing preferred.
- Knowledge of demand planning and forecasting tools.
Pay: $30.00 - $32.00 per hour
