Position Overview
The Finance & Insurance Manager is a critical, high-income role responsible for maximizing profitability per transaction through the sale of financing, extended service contracts, GAP coverage, Service Contracts, tire & wheel protection, appearance protection, theft deterrence products, and other marine products. You will guide customers through the financing process, ensure 100% compliance, and deliver a world-class closing experience in the F&I office.
Key Responsibilities
- Present and sell F&I products on every deal with enthusiasm and professionalism (target 100% customer contact).
- Achieve or exceed monthly per-vehicle-revenue (PVR) and product penetration goals.
- Secure financing approvals through multiple marine and recreational lenders.
- Structure deals for maximum profitability while maintaining ethical standards and full regulatory compliance.
- Review and ensure accuracy of all paperwork (purchase agreements, finance contracts, state registration documents, warranty registrations, etc.).
- Coordinate with the sales team to ensure smooth deal flow from the desk to the F&I office.
- Maintain strong working relationships with lender representatives and stay current on new programs and rate specials.
- Track and report daily/weekly/monthly F&I performance metrics (PVR, penetration rates, CSI).
- Train sales staff on F&I services value and proper deal structure/hand-off procedures.
- Stay up to date on all federal and state regulations (Red Flags Rule, Risk-Based Pricing, FACTA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, etc.).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of proven marine or powersports F&I experience (automotive F&I experience will be considered).
- Track record of consistently achieving 6% AI per Sales (or higher) in the marine/powersports space.
- Current or recent F&I product penetration rates:
– Service contracts ≥ 65%
– Other ancillary products ≥ 40%
- Strong menu-selling skills and a polished, customer-focused presentation style.
- Proficient with AppOne, RouteOne, CUDL, or marine-specific finance portals.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle high-volume transactions accurately.
- Clean background check and ability to be bonded.
- Valid driver’s license.
