Janitorial Supervisor

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Custodian to oversee and maintain cleanliness and functionality within our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in custodial services, including commercial cleaning, as well as facilities maintenance. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness in all areas, including restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Perform floor care tasks such as buffing, mopping, and waxing to ensure high standards of cleanliness.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
• Oversee industrial cleaning tasks as required, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary.
• Train new custodial staff on proper cleaning techniques and safety protocols.
• Assist with residential painting projects when needed to maintain the aesthetic appeal of the facilities.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all custodial needs are met promptly.
• Cover any call off cleaners

Qualifications

• Proven experience in custodial services or facilities maintenance is required.
• Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and waxing.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with industrial cleaning.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to effectively lead a team.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and maintenance issues.
• Certification in custodial or facilities management is a plus but not mandatory.
