What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at Custom Magnetics?
The production manager manages operations of production areas to ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved. Follows overall production schedules, targets, and goals are met. Manage staffing and establish daily and shift production goals. The production Manager monitors shift production metrics to identify and resolve issues and implement process improvements. Coordinates maintenance , turnarounds, and downtime efficiencies and speed. Additionally, the production manager ensures that staff training, equipment, gear, and tool requirements are fulfilled to comply with health and safety regulations. Coaches teams in best practice to provide a safe and efficient work environment and resolve escalated issues and problems.
Oversees subordinate staff of 25 to 40 in the day to day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project/department milestones and goals are met and adhered to. Typically has 5 years experience and 7-10 years supervisory experience..
Responsibilities and Duties
· Maintain and support the company ISO 9001 Quality Management System
· Oversee the production system to ensure compliance customer requirements.
· Confirm that production procedures are properly carried out and all documentation is current.
· Determine overall product quality by conducting and evaluating various product audits and process documentation tests.
· Resolve major quality problems as required.
· Evaluate and take corrective action when necessary with regard to product quality management at all levels of product movement.
· Educate and instruct plant personnel in recommended procedures, equipment utilization and housekeeping practices. Confirm these procedures are being maintained.
· Consult management and personnel on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yields.
· Accept responsibility of training and preparing new employees.
Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelors degree required.
· 5 to 10 years experience in production and/or manufacturing management.
· Performance Management. – Able to instruct and follow-through with personnel to ensure quality standards are met.
· Problem Solving/Analysis. - Ability to think critically and adapt to new situations with discretion.
· Decision Making. - Able to make decisions and act
· Communication Proficiency. - able to achieve understanding with others on complex issues.
Collaboration Skills. - willing able to work with others
Pay: $83,701.11 - $114,672.30 per year
