Role Objective:
Working with the VP of Sales & Marketing, executive leadership and operations, the Marketing Manager at Custom Label will drive brand growth by helping to research, develop, and execute strategic marketing campaigns that bridge the gap between our advanced prime label print technology and the branding needs of a wide variety of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies. You will be responsible for market research, lead generation, and leading creative initiatives to position our label solutions as the premier choice nationwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Create, execute, and evaluate comprehensive marketing plans. Align these initiatives with company sales goals to penetrate target markets in various product verticals, such as wine, spirits, craft beer, specialty foods, health & beauty, nutraceuticals, household goods and more.
- Campaign Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of integrated marketing campaigns, from conception to execution - across digital (LinkedIn, email), social media, and traditional media (trade shows, physical sample kits, presentations, collateral, etc.).
- Brand & Content Leadership: Ensure consistent brand guideline adherence and messaging across all touchpoints. Help to manage the content strategy, including technical whitepapers on print substrates, case studies of successful label conversions, and video walkthroughs of our Livermore and Nashville facilities.
- Market Analysis & Intelligence: Conduct ongoing research to identify packaging trends (e.g., sustainable materials, digital embellishments). Identify target audiences, high-value brands and high-growth opportunities within key product verticals. This includes customer development and deployment of customer surveys and new customer follow-up campaigns.
- Performance Tracking & ROI: Analyze campaign data (KPIs, lead conversion rates, and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) to generate detailed reports for leadership. Use data-driven insights to optimize marketing spend and tactics.
- Budgeting: Manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring funds are allocated for maximum ROI across lead gen, events, and collateral production.
- Vendor & Team Management: Collaborate and help lead internal creative efforts and manage relationships with external vendors (photographers, SEO agencies, and material suppliers).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience as a Marketing Manager. Experience in print manufacturing, packaging, or industrial B2B marketing is highly preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret customer behavior data and market trends to make informed strategic decisions.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills. You must be able to translate complex technical printing processes (flexo, digital, cold foil) into compelling value propositions for brand owners.
- Technical Literacy: Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), marketing automation software, and Google Analytics. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite for minor collateral edits is a plus. Experience effectively using AI tools.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously, from trade show logistics to website launches.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.

- Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs): Volume and quality of new business inquiries.
- Brand Awareness: Growth in digital engagement and industry "share of voice."
- Sales Alignment: Efficiency of sales enablement tools such as ZoomInfo and HubSpot to track and understand their impact on closing speed and effective communications.
