As a Shipper/Receiver at Custom Iron Works, Inc., you will play a key role in the flow of materials through our industrial fabrication facility. You will ensure accurate, safe, and timely movement of structural steel, aluminum, stainless products, components, and finished metal assemblies. Your work will support shop production and field installation teams. Key Responsibilities:Receive incoming raw materials, parts, and supplies; inspect for damage or discrepanciesAccurately unload trucks, verify quantities versus packing slips, and input receipts into inventory systemPick, pack, label, and prepare finished goods for shipment per customer and project specificationsCoordinate with production, welding, and fabrication teams to stage materials in correct work areasMaintain inventory accuracy via cycle counts and documentationOperate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safelyLoad and secure outbound shipments in compliance with load, weight, and safety standardsCommunicate shipment schedules with carriers and internal teamsMaintain a clean, organized receiving/shipping area compliant with safety standards Qualifications & Skills:High school diploma or equivalentPrevious shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing, steel, or heavy industrial environment strongly preferredForklift certification or willingness to obtain (training available)Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes & documentationBasic computer skills (inventory systems, barcode scanning)Ability to lift up to 50 lbs routinely and work on feet in a warehouse atmosphereExcellent communication and teamwork skills Preferred:Experience handling structural steel, industrial metals, steel tubing, and fabricated componentsKnowledge of OSHA warehouse safety practices and load securementCompany DescriptionCustom Iron Works, Inc. is a leading structural steel and custom metal fabrication company serving commercial, industrial, and government projects throughout New England.
