Overview
Custom Iron Works operates an in-house paint area for structural and fabricated metal products. The Industrial Painter ensures surfaces are prepared and coated to specified finishes that protect metal from corrosion and meet aesthetic standards for both government and private projects. Hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 am-3:30 pm
Duties
- Prepare metal surfaces for paint/coating application via sanding, blasting, grinding, and cleaning.
- Apply primers, paints, industrial coatings, and protective finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Mix and match paint formulas per specification sheets and project requirements.
- Operate spray booths, respirators, and coating equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect surfaces for quality, continuity, and adherence to finish standards.
- Maintain inventory of paints, coatings, and consumables.
- Clean and maintain painting area and equipment.
- Document application processes and report any material shortages or issues.
- Conforming with state and company safety protocols throughout the facility.
- Completing daily job report.
Experience
- Prior experience in industrial painting, metal finishings, or similar environment.
- Previous work experience as a painter.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and manipulate large metal objects.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- OSHA 10 Certified.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
