Position Purpose and Summary: The Regulatory Supervisor leads day-to-day regulatory operations supporting the development, manufacture, and commercialization of flavor ingredients. This role oversees a team responsible for regulatory documentation, supplier compliance verification, and customer regulatory support while ensuring compliance with applicable food and flavor regulations.Regulatory plays a key role in enabling Custom Flavors’ rapid development timelines. The Regulatory Supervisor ensures regulatory documentation, supplier approvals, and customer compliance responses are completed accurately and efficiently to support fast product development and customer service.This position reports to the Director of Regulatory & Quality Assurance and works closely with R&D, Purchasing, Operations, and Sales to maintain regulatory compliance across ingredients and finished flavor products.Regulatory Operations & ComplianceReview flavor formulas for regulatory compliance, including verification of permitted ingredients and evaluation of natural vs. artificial labeling eligibility.Interpret and apply relevant regulatory requirements related to flavor ingredients and food products.Maintain and support regulatory review processes that enable rapid product development and commercialization.Verify supplier documentation and raw material regulatory compliance prior to ingredient approval.Maintain regulatory documentation systems and ingredient regulatory records.Customer Regulatory SupportOversee preparation and delivery of regulatory documentation to customers, including specifications. regulatory questionnaires, compliance statements, allergen and dietary declarations, and safety documentation.Ensure rapid and accurate response to customer regulatory requests.Supplier Compliance & DocumentationCoordinate with suppliers to obtain required regulatory documentation for raw materials.Review supplier specifications, SDS, allergen statements, and related compliance documentation.Maintain organized supplier regulatory records within internal systems.Regulatory Reporting & FilingsComplete Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) drawback reporting and formula submissions on a quarterly basis.Support regulatory documentation required for certifications such as organic, kosher, and other applicable programs.Team LeadershipSupervise Regulatory Affairs Specialists and Regulatory Document Coordinators.Train team members on regulatory processes, documentation standards, and internal procedures.Assign and prioritize work to ensure timely completion of regulatory tasks.Maintain consistent documentation quality and regulatory accuracy across the team.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with R&D, Purchasing, Operations, and Sales to ensure regulatory compliance during product development and commercialization.Support internal teams by interpreting regulatory requirements related to flavor ingredients and finished products.Required Skills:Ability to effectively communicate with all colleagues, levels of management, vendors and customersKnowledge of the flavor industry regulatory process for powder and liquid flavor ingredientsProject leadership skills with the ability to take initiatives from planning through execution and final implementationIntermediate understanding of Microsoft Office and applicable standard operating procedures Ability to type 40 words per minutePhysical DemandsThe physical responsibilities described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position requires the ability to occasionally lift, push or pull office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds. Working conditionsThe position works remotely and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet. Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time remote position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm PST. This position is remote and requires regular collaboration during Pacific Standard Time business hours. Required QualificationsMinimum 5 years of regulatory experience in flavor manufacturing or food ingredient manufacturingMinimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experienceWorking knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to flavor ingredients and food productsExperience reviewing supplier regulatory documentation and verifying ingredient complianceExperience preparing regulatory documentation for customers and responding to regulatory inquiriesStrong organizational and project management skillsExcellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams, suppliers, and customersProficiency with Microsoft Office and regulatory documentation systemsPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs, or related fieldDirect experience in the flavor industryExperience with regulatory data systems, ERP platforms, and supplier or customer regulatory portalsFamiliarity with regulatory documentation associated with certifications such as organic, kosher, or similar programs* Pay Range only applies to Southern California and may be adjusted by region.

Salary : $95,000 - $115,000
