Now in our 49th year, Custom Industrial Processing, Inc. is a Secondary Machining, Mechanical Plating/Galvanizing Company in St. Marys, PA.
We are looking to hire a Plant Manager with strong leadership and analytical skills to join our team.
Summary
The Plant Manager position directs and manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality, and other production-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Directs production activities, prioritizes schedules and work assignments, ensures quality product is shipped to next operation/ department, analyzes work problems and assists workers.
- Lead plant operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and cost optimization.
- Maximize production output by monitoring yield, rework, customer returns, on time delivery, employee, and equipment efficiencies, operating expenses, managing inventories.
- Overseeing and coordinating daily production and maintaining a production schedule assuring on-time delivery of all orders.
- Manage manufacturing workforce including hiring, termination, corrective action, and performance reviews.
- Partner with human resources to manage disciplinary actions, as necessary.
- Analize staffing needs to ensure the facility is properly staffed with qualified individuals at all times to meet business goals and customer requirements.
- Communication of production activities between shifts
- Identify and Implement Improvement activities.
- Ensure the proper management of equipment and Tooling.
- Develop, monitor, and adjust production schedules to align with customer demand.
- Accountable for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory accuracy and supply opportunities.
- Develop and implement manufacturing plans and standards, which include managing materials, equipment, and labor to meet business needs.
- Build or improve procedures, metrics, and processes.
- Administer Company Polices and Regulations and "best Practices".
- Work closely with supply chain, quality, and engineering to maintain production standards.

PLANT MANAGER
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques.
- Ability to be observant and analytical, strong focus and attention to detail, thoroughness and dealing with complexity.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Thorough understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and manufacturing principles
- Experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.)
- Effective communication skills
- Critical thinking /problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple challenges simultaneously
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Responsible for overall Production Team performance
- Provide training, direction, and daily feedback to team
- Lead and organize production scheduling.
- Coordinate production jobs for efficiency
- Problem solve and make decisions on ways to decrease cycle times and improve efficiency of setups.
- Control material and/or tooling orders to maintain shop supply and keep workflow efficient through shop.
- Motivate team and set a good example
- Stay current on machining technology by learning new techniques and how to operate new machines
- Communicate directly with customers and suppliers
- Generate sales quotes on new parts per customer specifications.
- Assist Quality Assurance and Engineering to disposition of non-conforming products.
- Actively work to improve employee morale and address employee concerns.
- Sustain an organized, safe, and highly presentable work area.
- Provide employees with positive discipline as needed.
- Communicate with necessary personnel to keep work instructions, means of written communication and documentation.
- Requisition supplies, communicates with purchasing manager.
