New Bedford, MA, hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for its fast-paced Level II Trauma Center for a 13-week contract position. Nurses coordinate emergency care, triage patients, and provide evidence-based treatment for a wide range of conditions, from minor injuries to critical trauma, strokes, and psychiatric emergencies.
ER RN Role Details and Responsibilities
- Patient Triage: Assess patients to determine the urgency of care required
- Life-Saving Interventions: Initiate immediate, critical care for life-threatening conditions
- Specialized Care: Collaborate with pediatricians from neighboring Hospital for emergency pediatric cases
- Family Support: Provide compassion, comfort, and reassurance to patients and their families after stabilization
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education & License: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and a current RN License in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 to 2 years of Emergency Department experience is generally required.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are required. Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) is a preferred credential
Schedule and Compensation
- Shift: NIGHT SHIFT (7:15pm-7:15am) 36 hours per week with required weekend and holiday rotation
- Hourly rate: $70
Pay: $70.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 36.0 per week
