As our operations continue to grow, we are seeking a hands-on, experienced Maintanance Technician to maintain our equipment maintenance program and ensure the smooth functioning of all critical systems on the shop floor.
Role Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of all shop machinery and equipment, including high-use mechanical systems and specialized coating equipment. This role plays a key part in keeping operations safe, efficient, and on schedule in a dynamic, fast-paced industrial environment. Key Responsibilities
· Manage the maintenance and repair of:
o Forklifts & material handling equipment
o Welding machines
o CNC machines and controllers
o Overhead cranes and hoists
o Diesel-powered shop and yard equipment
o Wheelabrators / shot blast systems
o Industrial painting systems (pumps, spray booths, air handling)
o Small hand tools, grinders, saws, and pneumatic tools
· Develop and enforce a preventive and predictive maintenance program to reduce downtime.
· Maintain detailed maintenance logs and equipment histories using CMMS or internal tracking.
· Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues quickly and effectively.
· Coordinate with vendors and contractors for parts, service, and equipment upgrades.
· Manage spare parts inventory and procurement processes.
· Support capital equipment installation and shop improvement projects.
· Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies; promote a safety-first culture.
Qualifications
· 5 years of industrial maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
· Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
· Direct experience maintaining wheelabrators, overhead cranes, and industrial paint equipment.
· Familiarity with CMMS and preventive maintenance planning.
· Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and machine manuals.
· Comfortable working in a steel fabrication or coatings environment.
· Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
· Technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, or Mechanical fields.
· Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement processes.
· Forklift and overhead crane safety certification.
· Welding and fabrication skills a plus.
