About the Job
CFA Laser is a fast-growing sheet metal fabrication company using top-of-the-line Amada lasers, press brakes, and finishing equipment to make precision metal parts. We’re looking for an experienced Quality Control Inspector who knows how to keep tight tolerances, spot problems before they happen, and make sure every part that leaves the shop is right.
You’ll inspect metal parts, review material certifications, complete first article reports, and work closely with production to keep everything on spec. If you take pride in precision and have the patience to double-check the details—this is the job for you.
Your Day-to-Day
- Inspect sheet metal parts for size, flatness, finish, and accuracy.
- Read and interpret blueprints in inches and millimeters.
- Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAI) and Finishing Certificates.
- Verify heat numbers and mill certifications for material traceability.
- Perform random spot checks on production runs to maintain consistency.
- Create and file Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when needed.
- Take and upload part photos to our internal system.
- Work directly with operators, press brake, and laser teams to address issues on the floor.
- Stay organized while moving fast in a high-mix, high-output environment.
What You Bring
- 3 years experience inspecting sheet metal or precision metal parts.
- Strong understanding of material grades and finishes (steel, stainless, aluminum).
- Hands-on experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and inspection tools.
- Familiarity with GD&T, AS9102, or similar inspection formats.
- Comfortable with computers, Excel, and digital QC systems.
- Can switch between metric and imperial units without hesitation.
- A sharp eye for detail and a mindset of continuous improvement.
- Ability to move fast, stay focused, and keep quality first.
Why Join CFA Laser
- Competitive pay (based on experience).
- Health, dental, and retirement benefits.
- Modern, clean, and organized shop with top-tier machinery.
- Great culture: driven, honest, and team-focused.
- Growth opportunities as we expand our operation.
