Staff Accountant

Overview

Serves as part of the Accounting Team and is responsible for daily cash management and working with the field operations on forecasting across the company. The ideal candidate will be a hands on, fast learner and possess the ability to work in a fast pace environment. This position will assist the field operations teams in maximizing their profitability by utilizing the tools in place.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze the company’s daily cash position to cover cash commitments and coordinate/ assist in the execution of the daily cash management duties
• Adhere to month-end cut-off schedules for reconciliations of all cash-related accounts, all month-end processes, and all related journal entries
• Assist with month-end and ad-hoc information requests as needed
• Act as a treasury liaison in setting up new banking accounts, services, and handling bank inquiries and related matters
• Support corporate accounting, financial planning, and other functions as they relate to Treasury transactions
• Work with the Accounting Team on developing operating cash flow forecasts, enhancing visibility in cash balances, optimizing working capital and establishing metrics/key performance indicators
• Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
• Assisting with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
• Assisting with the preparation of yearly audits and financial management reports
• Participate in budgeting processes and financial forecast activities to aid in strategic planning.
• Coordinate with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts
• Ad-hoc analysis and reporting
• Special projects
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to create and maintain spreadsheets for tracking and reporting purposes.
• Pull information from company software and generate reports to support daily operations and decision-making.
• Communicate effectively with managers and team members to relay important updates and ensure smooth workflow.
• Assist with special projects, presentations, and data analysis as needed.
• Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Experience

• Staff Accountant: 1 year (Preferred)
• Work Location: Walker, LA
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and creating workbooks

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
