What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Machinist position at Custom Cut Metals?
- Complete machine start-up, evaluation, and checks for vertical mills, lathes, & surface grinders
- Perform complex process set-up and material accommodation(s)
- Run and execute programs created by others
- Perform program adjustments or modifications at the machine as needed or directed
- Provide legitimate feedback on feeds and speeds that may not be fully optimized
- Create rudimentary programs at the machine to complete basic machining functions
- Perform all required quality checks, both intermediate and finals
- Recognize when a machine is providing feedback indicating an issue or maintenance is required.
- Run all equipment in the Machine Shop notwithstanding brand, type or condition
- Mentor less experienced operators when they have questions or run into issues
- Keep all equipment wiped down, clean, organized and ready for the next operation
Salary : $28 - $30
