Role Description
This is an on-site role for a Skilled Union Carpenter located in Lake Zurich, IL. The Skilled Carpenter will be responsible for executing a variety of carpentry tasks, including framing, finish carpentry, and using power and hand tools. Additionally, the carpenter will interpret blueprints, ensure adherence to safety standards, and collaborate with the construction team to meet project deadlines and deliver exceptional workmanship.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Carpentry, including both rough and finish carpentry techniques
- Skilled in the use of Power Tools, including saws, drills, and sanders
- Experience with Framing and understanding structural layouts
- Strong familiarity with Hand Tools necessary for precise and detailed work
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to maintain compliance on active job sites
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage time effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in carpentry is a plus
- Union membership or willingness to join the union, as required by the role
- Previous experience in commercial or residential construction is an advantage
