Job Summary:
This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and control a high volume inbound and outbound priority package and distribution operation in a manner that provides maximum service to our customers while maintaining a safe, productive, and cost-effective operation. This role is a “HANDS ON” position working with the plant and office personnel. Must be able to handle the variable temperature environments of the outdoors. Must have outstanding organizational skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead and develop a high-performance team to ensure the daily production and maintenance plans are executed effectively
- Ensure all equipment is up to code and usable for production
- Effectively communicate operational information in both oral and written format at all levels: crew members, other supervisors, office personnel and outside customers and vendors
- Provide training and coaching to drive continued improvement
- Ensure environmental compliance
- Identify, troubleshoot, and propose innovative solutions to complex operational issues
- Schedule daily production to ensure timely orders are executed
- Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing job contributions
- Ensure that personnel perform their jobs in a safe and productive manner. Hold regular safety meetings to ensure compliance and efficient processes are being maintained
- Communicate customer/plant issues with the management team and devise ways of improving the overall business
- Will be responsible for managing all production for the facility. This position is responsible for driving all processes for the safe operation of the plant facility.
- Will be responsible for developing relationships between all divisions and personnel.

- Manage daily operations to ensure personnel and facility are aligned to the business objectives
- Review production reports, activity reports and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement or to identify areas needing quality, cycle time, cost reduction or process improvement
- Make regular rounds of units to ensure proper operations and correct unsafe acts or practices
- Maintain and enforce good housekeeping and keep the plant free from debris, spills and waste
- Train, coach and mentor personnel
- Strong experience with a Batch Operations Plant Facility Drive process improvement and change
- Plan and coordinate manufacturing operations for production, machinery, processing, and packaging departments
- Ensure that production line schedules are in accordance with facility capabilities, customer requirements, and financial planning
- Manage materials replenishment, quality standards, and performance metrics in support of organizational goals and objectives
- Manage cost structures for manufacturing by keeping operational expenses within budget allowance, and investigate cost-reduction measures
- Create documentation protocols and ensure that all records of operations are properly maintained and reviewed
Objectives of this role
- Implement strategic improvements for production, quality, and labor utilization throughout the facility
- Provide leadership to ensure effective utilization of plant personnel and equipment
- Collaborate with functional departments in the implementation of improvements
- Investigate and implement innovative manufacturing processes to reduce costs and improve product quality
Required skills and qualifications
- Ten or more years of experience in plant operations or engineering
- Proven skills in leadership and supervision
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
- Excellent time management, organization, communications and listening skills; oral, written
- Ability to complete multiple tasks and manage a high volume of work
- Experience managing others is mandatory
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
