· Ability to perform basic troubleshooting if issues occur
· Qualified systems engineers will have a background in IT, computer systems engineering, or systems engineering and analysis
· Ability to restart jobs if appropriate
· Ability to escalate issues when appropriate
· Ability to record/update tickets in the DDMI Service Management tool
· Experience and background with patching
· Ability to assist with system upgrades
· Experience with patch panel cabling
· Experience with system builds and decom's
· Ability to rack or rack or de-rack hardware
· Proven experience with monitoring systems
· Proven experience with automation software
· Knowledge of hardware components and hardware troubleshooting procedures
· Ability to seek solutions to problems using one's own resources
Preferred
· Experience with supporting environments that include infrastructure elements such as Networking, Windows Servers, Linux Servers
· Understanding of ITIL concepts
· Ability to monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports
· Associates' degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics or related degree / work experience
· A combination of education, experience and training may be considered in lieu of a formal degree
· Some Windows server, Linux server and networking knowledge
· Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
· Strong customer service orientation
· Elevated ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
· CompTIA, MCSA, CCNA > aligned to role

· Monitor systems
· Perform basic troubleshooting if issues occur

· Executing Requests for Changes (RFCs)
· Record/update tickets in the DDMI Service Management tool
· Provide escort services for co-location customers, suppliers or business partners
