What are the responsibilities and job description for the Robotic Welding Operator position at Custom Built Mfg?
Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable individual to operate robotic welding equipment used to manufacture heavy-duty tow truck components. This position is responsible for loading and unloading parts, operating robotic welding cells, performing quality inspections, and helping maintain efficient production, Previous robotic welding experience is preferred but not required, Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Load and position steel components into welding fixtures
- Operate robotic welding equipment safely and efficiently
- Inspect completed welds and finished parts for quality and completeness
- Perform basic cleanup, including removal of weld spatter when required
- Replace basic welding consumables such as contact tips and nozzles
- Notify supervisors of equipment issues or weld quality concerns
- Read basic production drawings and work instructions
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety procedures
- Work as part of the fabrication team to meet production schedules
Qualifications
- Manufacturing or fabrication experience preferred but not required
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to read tape measure and use basic measuring tools
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, bend, and work in a manufacturing environment throughout the shift
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with MIG welding or robotic welding
* Forklift overhead crane experience
* Blueprint reading experience
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
