Inside Sales Representative – Custom Bilt Metals

The Inside Sales Representative at Custom Bilt Metals is responsible for driving sales, managing customer inquiries, and closing orders through multiple channels, with a focus on the metal products and systems the company supplies.


Role Overview

Custom Bilt Metals specializes in roofing systems, gutter systems, specialty walls, and soffits/airflow products for architects, contractors, and homeowners. The Inside Sales Representative serves as the primary point of contact for sales leads, ensuring prompt and accurate service to maintain customer satisfaction and drive revenue.


Key Responsibilities

  • Developing Outbound Sales: Be able to prospect and cold call prospects by phone calls, emails, and faxes from customers.
  • Order Processing: Take and process sales orders, determine pricing and delivery charges, and provide quotes to customers.
  • Customer Service: Handle customer complaints, resolve discrepancies, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Order Follow-Up: Ensure timely follow-up on quotes and customer requests.
  • Data Entry & Record Keeping: Input customer and order details into the company’s ERP system with accuracy.
  • Special Orders: Process direct mail re-orders and coordinate shipping, billing, and special requirements.
  • Coordination: Provide customer information to the test department for certificate issuance.
  • CRM/HubSpot: Be able to communicate through our CRM platform HubSpot that aligns our sales, marketing, service and ERP platform and where all our customer data is kept. 


Skills & Qualifications

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate pricing, delivery costs, margin, and order specifications.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Ability to build rapport and create repeat business through long lasting customer relationships.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of metallurgy and metal applications is preferred.
  • Computer Proficiency: Ability to use systems for quoting, order entry, and data management. Be familiar with Microsoft suite of products including, word, excel, outlook, etc.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; no specific license required.

Work Environment

  • Work Type: Full-time, exempt.
  • Location: We are hiring in multiple locations. (e.g., N. Seattle, WA, Lakewood, WA, Southern & Northern California, Portland, OR).
  • Shifts: Day shifts; some flexibility for overtime as needed.
  • Exposure: No outdoor work; most duties are desk-based.

Compensation

  • Compensation: Salary plus commission. Commission structure TBD dependent on successful attainment of sales goals & activity. 
  • Salary Range: Between $50,745 and $80,000/year depending on location.

It offers opportunities to gain industry-specific sales experience in the metal construction sector. Given success in the Inside Sales role after the first 90/120 days it is our intention to promote successful candidates into Outside Sales role with Custom Bilt Metals. Salary : $50,745 - $80,000
