What are the responsibilities and job description for the Audio-Video / Security Technician position at Custom Audio-Video?
We are looking for a dependable, hard-working technician who enjoys hands-on work, solving problems, and being part of a team that installs and services professional technology systems.
This position will include project-based installations and service calls for audio, video, security, and low-voltage systems. Experience is preferred, but we are also willing to work with the right person who has a strong work ethic, mechanical ability, and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities include:
- Installing and servicing audio, video, and security systems
- Working with speakers, sound systems, projectors, displays, control systems, security cameras, card access, and related equipment
- Pulling, terminating, testing, and labeling cable
- Troubleshooting system issues and completing service calls
- Using hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and testing equipment
- Completing assigned daily tasks, paperwork, and job documentation
- Maintaining a professional appearance and attitude with customers and team members
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with AV, security camera/card access, low-voltage, electrical, networking, or construction-related work
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read instructions, follow procedures, and stay organized
- Comfortable working from ladders, lifts, and scaffolding
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Clean driving record
- Dependable, professional, and willing to learn
