Correctional Healthcare Assistant (Part-Time)

Job Description
Custody Care Services is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented individual to assist with daily healthcare operations at local county correctional facilities. This position primarily involves medication organization and inventory management, along with assisting healthcare providers with patient information gathering and administrative tasks.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, comfortable working independently, and able to manage responsibilities across multiple locations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize medications according to established procedures and applicable regulations
- Monitor medication inventory, check stock levels, and assist with restocking
- Maintain accurate medication inventory records
- Meet with inmates to collect medical histories and relevant health information
- Document information for review by medical providers
- Assist with medical records, paperwork, and routine administrative duties
- Communicate with healthcare providers and correctional facility staff
- Travel between participating correctional facilities as needed
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all facility safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous healthcare, medical office, pharmacy, or correctional experience preferred but not required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass required background checks and correctional facility security clearance
Compensation & Schedule
- $15.00 per hour
- Approximately 20–35 hours per week
- Part-time position with potential for additional hours based on operational needs
- Work performed at multiple county correctional facilities
