Job Summary
Position is responsible for participating in and supervising routine cleaning of all areas of the building and policing of grounds.
Essential Duties
1. Assists in the training of the custodial staff at assigned location.
2. Oversees custodial work, maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
3. Performs minor maintenance and replaces lights, tubes, ceiling tile, switch and outlet plates, and pencil sharpeners.
4. Uses a power lift to perform some tasks up to 40 ft.
5. Must get along well with others and deal effectively with principals, teachers, students, and visitors.
6. Locks and unlocks doors.
7. Checks the security of the building and grounds.
8. Activates and deactivates the alarm system.
9. Sweeps and wet and dry mop floors.
10. Waxes floors and operates buffing machines.
11. Vacuums and cares for carpeting.
12. Washes windows and furniture.
13. Cleans restrooms using appropriate equipment and supplies.
14. Mops and buffs the cafeteria.
15. Moves furniture, folds and unfolds chairs as required.
16. Picks up paper and debris from school grounds.
17. Checks heating and air conditioning for proper operation.
18. Contacts Plant Services for after-hour emergencies.
19. Raises and lowers flags.
20. Delivers packages and messages.
21. Make minor repairs to equipment and furniture as needed.
22. Load and unload delivery trucks.
23. Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

Salary
Paid in accordance with hourly grade 16. Speacial consideration; commensurate with education, training, and experience.
