What are the responsibilities and job description for the Weekend Night CNC Machinist position at CUST-O-FAB?
The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC drills and machines:
- Wear proper PPE at all times on shop floor and follow all safety protocols and procedures
- Read prints for required specifications and dimensions
- Measure parts using different measuring tools (tape measure, dial calipers, dial indicators, micrometers)
- Remove slag using grinders
- Operate overhead cranes on daily basis to load machines with parts
- Cut supports to lengths needed using a hot saw
- Occasionally operate forklifts
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned, which may include performing basic tasks when such a need arises
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be a highly safety-oriented individual
- 2 years CNC Drill experience required
- 1 year of Manufacturing experience required
- Problem solving capabilities
- Ability to understand and use G codes and M codes preferred
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work overtime
Physical requirements
Ability to lift 50 lbs., sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, etc. Work environment may include high noise areas, working at heights, confined spaces, congested work sites, shift work, duration rotations, shop setting, etc.
