Since 1987 Cusack Masonry Restoration has become a respected commercial masonry restoration contractor serving clients throughout Michigan and surrounding states. We are seeking a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys working in a growing, entrepreneurial, and construction business. This position is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day accounting while also providing financial and data analysis and insight that helps leadership make better business decisions.
This is not simply a bookkeeping position. The successful candidate will become a trusted member of the management team, responsible for maintaining accurate GAAP accounting, financial information, improving business processes, and helping drive the company's continued growth.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting & Financial Management
- Manage all accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process payroll and certified payroll reporting
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting reports
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities
- Work directly with the company's outside CPA

Construction & Project Accounting
- Maintain accurate job costing
- Monitor project profitability and labor performance
- Track work-in-progress (WIP)
- Prepare project cost reports and aging reports
- Support project managers with financial information
- Monitor budgets and cost overruns

Finance & Business Analysis
- Prepare cash flow forecasts
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning
- Develop KPIs and management dashboards
- Analyze profitability by project, customer, and business segment
- Recommend process improvements and internal controls
- Support strategic planning and business growth initiatives

Administration & Management
- Maintain accounting and project documentation
- Assist with contract administration
- Ensure compliance with payroll, tax, insurance, and lien requirements
- Coordinate audit and reporting requests
- Support estimating and operations as needed
- Oversee licensing and other regulatory requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of accounting experience
- Construction accounting experience
- Strong understanding of job costing
- Excellent Excel skills
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- High degree of integrity and attention to detail

Preferred
- Controller or senior accounting experience
- Certified payroll experience
- Experience with construction software such as PlanGrid
- Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Michigan Notary or willingness to obtain

COMPENSATION
Compensation will be competitive and based on experience. Benefits include paid time off, holidays, and additional benefits based on qualifications.
