Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Sit-Down Forklift Operator to join our 2nd (3:30pm -12am) shift team. This role is responsible for safely operating a forklift to move, pull, and load sheet metal and coils. The ideal candidate has strong forklift experience in an industrial setting and is comfortable handling heavy materials with precision and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a sit-down forklift to move, stage, and load sheet metal and steel coils
- Pull and prepare materials for shipping and production
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
- Inspect materials for damage and verify accuracy of shipments
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of sit-down forklift experience (industrial/heavy material preferred)
- Experience handling sheet metal and/or steel coils is highly preferred
- Ability to safely lift and maneuver heavy loads
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to work overtime as needed, including extended hours and weekends
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
