Assist in overseeing yard operations and yard personnel in order to achieve a successful balance of customer satisfaction and yard profitability. Supervises employees appropriately & effectively.
$23 - $25 per hour, annual performance based raises!
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Training Track
- Learn all applicable computer applications, achieve forklift license, receive certification for propane dispensing and understand general policies and procedures.
- Work in the yard at a branch to be determined in order to get a good understanding of the Yard and its functions.
- Work in Receiving, Dispatch and Distribution in order to be familiar with the policies and procedures within these departments.
- Participate in counter sales to learn the products and customers.
- Participate in inside and outside contractor sales, learning the policies and procedures along with products and customers.
- Work in and observe specialized departments such as kitchen and bath, door and windows and the flooring department in order to become familiar with products and vendors.
- Understand the roles and meet members of each corporate department to include Accounting, Credit, A/R, Human Resources, Purchasing, Special Orders, IS, Advertising and Loss Control.
- Attend vendor specific training as scheduled during the training period.
- Learn how to utilize financial reports and data to manage and make business decisions.
- Through observation, hands on training and mentoring develop a firm understanding of safety management, store operations, EOD, inventory management, inventory procurement, employee management, merchandising, advertising, GM, and expense management.
Knowledge of lumber yard operations is a must along with managerial, communication, and organization skills.
