What are the responsibilities and job description for the Railcar Final Assembler: First Shift position at Curry Rail Services?
This role involves assembling, repairing, completing touch up and decal work as well as performing quality assurance tasks on large-scale industrial equipment. The assembler utilizes hand and power tools to assemble components, apply finishes, and conduct tests to ensure that all products meet quality and safety standards.
Essential Duties:
1. Performs a variety of duties to support final assembly department as follows:
- Interior/exterior paint touch up on freight and tank cars
- Gate repair and application - hopper cars
- Apply decals - any type of railcar
- Assemble PD hoppers & perform air leakage test
- Final rinse
2. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
3. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the company’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.
4. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel.
5. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
Ancillary Duties
1. Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
Experience: 2 years preferred, but not required.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
