What are the responsibilities and job description for the Railcar Cleaner: First Shift position at Curry Rail Services?
General Responsibilities
a) Must have reliable transportation.
b) Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and must able to properly wear a respirator and complete fit testing.
c) Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
Essential Duties
a) Clean all cars tanks and hoppers.
b) Test interior for confined space and remove any heel/excess from commodity.
c) Steam and wash cars with hot water or hot caustic water.
d) Wipe interior dry and to remove all valves and fittings.
e) Communicates with other team members to solve problems and provide instruction to quickly resolve production issues.
f) Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
Work Environment
The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of conditions at the facility. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The position regularly works near moving railcars and other mechanical equipment. In and outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and dirt.
Experience
Two years of experience preferred though not required.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
