Duties

• Assist with food preparation, including slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
• Follow recipes accurately to ensure meal consistency and quality adherence
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and food processors
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, utensils, and kitchen appliances in accordance with food safety standards
• Support menu planning by preparing ingredients for daily meals and special catering events
• Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed to uphold food safety management protocols
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and service times
• Assist in serving meals to residents or customers in a courteous and professional manner

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dietary services, food industry, or restaurant environment preferred
• Demonstrated dietary aide or culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation and food safety standards
• Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques
• Strong understanding of cleaning procedures in a kitchen setting to maintain hygiene standards
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and team members
• Knowledge of catering processes and serving techniques is a plus
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
