Role Description
The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach will support the head coach in managing the basketball program at Curry High School. Responsibilities include assisting with practice planning, player development, game strategies, and fostering a positive team atmosphere. Additional duties involve promoting sportsmanship, supervising athletes during practices and games, and assisting in organizing team activities. The chosen candidate would also serve as the Junior Varsity head coach. This is a part-time, nonfaculty position based in Jasper, AL.
Qualifications
- Experience and skills in Basketball Coaching and general Coaching responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of Basketball, including player techniques and game strategies
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to inspire and guide athletes
- Ability to design and implement Training programs to develop players’ skills and teamwork
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment for student-athletes
- Previous experience coaching at the high school level is a plus
- Understanding of local and state athletic regulations and eligibility requirements
