What are the responsibilities and job description for the π We're Hiring: Junior Computer Vision Engineer (Edge AI / Real-Time Systems) position at CURRUX Vision?
Currux Vision is a Houston-based technology company specializing in autonomous AI computer vision systems for smart infrastructure, traffic management, and safety. We enhance urban mobility by converting existing cameras/sensors into intelligent tools for city planners, DOTs, and developers, enabling improved traffic flow, lower emissions, and safer roads.Β
Are you a recent graduate passionate about building production-ready AI computer vision systems that run efficiently on the edge? Do you love optimizing Python code, wrangling Linux, debugging live services, and making cameras "see" intelligently in real time?
We're looking for a motivated Junior Computer Vision Engineer to join our team and help develop high-performance vision pipelines for cameras, edge devices, and intelligent hardware systems.
What you'll work on:- Design and optimize real-time computer vision pipelines, custom image processing, and multi-camera systems
- Implement and accelerate deep learning inference on edge hardware (TensorRT, CUDA, NVIDIA DeepStream β nice-to-have)
- Build robust video streaming solutions with GStreamer, RTSP, and WebRTC
- Develop concurrent, reliable applications in Python on Linux (threading, multiprocessing, shared memory)
- Create networking layers β sockets, WebSockets, and HTTP/Flask APIs
- Deploy and profile software on NVIDIA Jetson platforms under tight CPU/memory constraints
- Integrate with hardware using GPIO, gpiod, and control physical devices directly from software
- Build production-grade reliability: timeouts, health checks, comprehensive logging, and observability
- Recent Computer Science / Electrical Engineering / Robotics graduate (or equivalent)
- GPA of 3.75 and higher preffered
- Hardworking, stong ability to learn and great attitude
- Hands-on experience with Python and Linux
- Understanding of concurrency, debugging production services, and writing reliable code
- Practical projects or internships involving OpenCV, cameras, or video processing
- Familiarity with any of the following is a plus: TensorRT, GStreamer, Jetson, CUDA, or embedded performance optimization
- A reliability-first mindset and excitement about shipping real-world systems
This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent grad who wants to learb a lot and work on tangible hardware AI products instead of just theoretical models. You'll get ownership of end-to-end vision systems from camera input all the way to deployed edge applications.
