Job Summary:
Currituck County Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Multi-Language Teacher Assistant to support student learning in daily classroom activities. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, inclusive learning environment and help promote academic and social success for all students.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher with instruction, classroom management, and preparation of materials.
- Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
- Supervise students in various settings including the classroom, lunchroom, playground, and during transitions.
- Support students with special needs as assigned.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom.
- Perform clerical duties such as photocopying, grading simple assignments, and organizing supplies.
- Attend training, workshops, and meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 48 semester hours of college coursework or Associate’s degree required.
- Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
- Basic knowledge of child development and instructional strategies.
