Job Description:
Currituck County Schools is seeking reliable and dedicated substitute teachers to join our team. As a substitute teacher, you will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment, following lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, and managing classroom behavior. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' academic experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher and ensure all students are engaged in classroom activities.
- Maintain classroom discipline and a safe learning environment.
- Provide students with appropriate feedback and support.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including attendance and reporting student progress.
- Communicate with the school staff and administration regarding any issues or concerns.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferred, but not required).
- Previous teaching or childcare experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
