Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Device Repair Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of medical devices used in healthcare settings. While no formal certification is required, hands-on experience with medical equipment, mechanical repairs, or electronic troubleshooting is essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of medical devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosis & Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose issues with our four pneumatic compression pumps models.
  • Repair & Maintenance: Perform repairs on our medical devices to restore them to proper working condition. This will include repairing and replacing parts as well as testing and  calibrating equipment.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Testing & Calibration: Test repaired devices for functionality and accuracy, ensuring they meet industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and testing, including device histories, parts used, and actions taken.
  • Customer Support: Communicate effectively with internal teams or clients to report on the status of repairs and suggest improvements or preventive measures.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all applicable safety and regulatory standards, including local, state, and federal regulations regarding medical equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in tracking and maintaining an inventory of spare parts and supplies necessary for repairs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous hands-on experience in the repair, maintenance, or troubleshooting of medical devices, electronic equipment, or mechanical systems is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic troubleshooting skills. Ability to use various diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically to find effective solutions to technical issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision and accuracy in performing repairs and testing.
  • Communication: Ability to clearly communicate technical issues and solutions to colleagues, clients, and management.
  • Work Ethic: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional coursework in electronics, mechanical  or a related field is a plus.

Preferred but Not Required:

  • Familiarity with medical device regulations and safety standards (e.g., FDA guidelines, ISO standards).
  • Basic knowledge of computer software for diagnostics, calibration, and troubleshooting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Manual dexterity for repairing delicate equipment.
  • Ability to work in environments that may involve standing, bending, or sitting for extended periods.
