Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Outside Sales Consultant to drive growth in the Houston area. In this role, you’ll be responsible for selling standby generators and service contracts to commercial clients. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, you’ll play a key part in helping customers find reliable power solutions tailored to their unique needs — while contributing to the long-term growth of a forward-thinking, family-run company.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Generation: Identify, develop, and close sales opportunities in your territory. Lead sales calls, on-site visits, and product demos to educate and convert prospects.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain trusted relationships with homeowners, builders, and business owners. Listen carefully to their power needs and propose smart, effective solutions.
- Consultative Sales: Recommend and customize product offerings that align with customer needs and project goals.
- Product Expertise: Maintain deep product knowledge on our generator and EV charging systems and stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the VP of Sales to develop and execute sales plans that align with company goals and market potential.
- Market Research: Stay tuned to market conditions, customer behavior, and competitive activity in the area.
- CRM & Pipeline Management: Use House Call Pro to keep detailed records of leads, interactions, and opportunities. Provide timely updates on progress and pipeline status.
- Proposal Development: Create clear, detailed proposals outlining pricing, system specs, and the value proposition of our solutions.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the technical, customer service, and marketing teams to ensure seamless service delivery and exceptional customer experiences.
- Sales Reporting: Deliver regular updates to the CEO, including performance metrics, feedback from the field, and any roadblocks encountered.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a related field (preferred but not required)
- Proven experience in B2B and B2C sales, ideally within the electrical, construction, or power systems industries
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently
- Proficient in CRM tools (House Call Pro experience a plus) and Microsoft Office
- Valid Driver’s License (preferred)
- Willingness to travel throughout the Houston area for client meetings and site visits
