What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Driver - Nights position at Current Openings?
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS/PURPOSE:
When you work at Trex, you’re contributing to the growth and enhancement of a true original. We are seeking CDL Drivers to assist us in meeting production and quality goals. This position is responsible for delivering decking and railing orders to pro channel and retail customers. Other responsibilities may include transferring pellets from railcars and gaylords/supersacks to silos, or shuttling trailers between buildings in Winchester. The primary goal of this position is to safely and efficiently deliver Trex product to Trex Customers, and could include performing duties in multiple work areas, as listed below:

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent Trex in a professional manner while making deliveries in a safe and efficient manner to customer sites.
- Operate all Tractors and other equipment as needed to perform duties in a manner that promotes safety for the position and all employees on shift.
- As needed, support shuttle and jockey movements between buildings/sites to support Winchester Operations- this may include movement of wood trailers and vans.
- As needed, ensure timely transfers of pellet material from railcars to silos as well as gaylords/supersacks into silos (as needed)..
- Ensure weighing of all trailers as required by activity/trailer type.
- Inspect trailers for damage daily to ensure the fleet remains intact (specifically trailers that are moved)
- Work overtime as required
- Support fleet center activities as needed
- Requires operational certification and practical demonstration
- Ability to complete required documentation as necessary for driving activities
- Work well in a team environment with the desire to learn and clearly communicate with the Logistics Managers, Supervisors, Team Leaders, Maintenance, and coworkers
- Any additional duties as assigned by management
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
TECHNICAL / FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
- Must be able to understand and complete all documentation involved in the driving position.
- General knowledge of proper communication etiquette, and the importance of initiative, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
- Other:
- Demonstrate regular attendance, punctuality, and flexibility.
- Recognize safety is a priority in all aspects and functions of work practice.
- CDL- Class A License with an active DOT physical
