Position Overview
Current Electrical Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our Madison/Stoughton team. This role combines estimating, project management, and field coordination for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of electrical systems, construction practices, and the ability to lead projects from estimating through completion.
What You'll Do
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates by reviewing project documents, completing material takeoffs, and defining project scope.
- Manage commercial and industrial electrical projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Coordinate project schedules, labor, equipment, and materials to keep work progressing on time.
- Collaborate with engineers, field supervisors, and project teams to identify solutions and maintain project momentum.
- Participate in constructability reviews and recommend practical, cost effective approaches when appropriate.
- Obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors and oversee their performance throughout the project.
- Build strong relationships with owners, contractors, and project stakeholders through consistent communication.
- Provide project updates and respond to questions from clients and other parties involved.
- Promote a safe jobsite by supporting company safety policies and applicable regulations.
- Help maintain compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
- Monitor project budgets, review pay applications, and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices.
- Coordinate with utility providers as needed during project planning and construction.
- Verify work is completed according to project drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Perform basic field layouts, simple electrical designs, and site surveys when needed.
- Respond to service calls and assist with troubleshooting electrical systems.
Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician license or a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Construction Management.
- Master Electrician license is a plus.
- Five or more years of electrical project management experience in commercial or industrial construction.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with estimating, budgeting, and project scheduling is preferred.
