Position Overview

We are seeking warm, reliable pet sitters for OVERNIGHT STAYS and drop-in services in the listed service areas. This role is ideal for retirees or individuals seeking part-time, flexible work. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours; assignments depend on client needs and your availability. The work is enjoyable and rewarding—an opportunity to meet a variety of animals and wonderful clients.

Important Availability & Household Requirements (PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING)

- Approximately 90% of our assignments are overnight stays in clients’ homes. Overnight sitters must be available for consecutive multi-night bookings.

- We offer two overnight package types:

- Standard overnight: sitter may be away from the home up to 4–5 hours total per day (for brief errands only).

- Limited-step-out overnight: sitter may be away up to 2–3 hours per day.

- This role is not compatible with commitments that would interrupt overnight assignments. If you have scheduled workdays, childcare responsibilities, regular days off that prevent overnighting, or other obligations that would prevent you from completing an overnight booking, please do not apply.

- Applicants should not have household pets or dependents (including children) whose care or schedules would interfere with overnight availability.

- Conflicting commitments that require frequent back-and-forth create operational strain and prevent sitters from delivering the uninterrupted, 100% level of care our clients expect.

- Days off are acceptable; however, the number of assignments you receive will reflect your stated availability.

Responsibilities

- Overnight pet sitting at clients’ homes (multiple consecutive nights when scheduled)

- Drop-in visits as assigned

- Follow company standards and client instructions; represent Curly Tail Care professionally

Requirements

- Must love animals of all kinds

- Reliable, punctual, professional appearance (uniform polo provided for meet & greets and business functions)

- Own a reliable vehicle and a smartphone with working GPS

- Strong communication skills; team-player attitude

- Agree to a Non-Compete Agreement

- Background check required (candidate pays; refunded after 90 days of active service) — Backgroundchecks.com

- Pet service certifications a plus (company will pay for Pet CPR classes)

Compensation & Classification

- Independent contractor (1099)

- 60% of total invoice paid to sitter

- Payments via bank transfer or Venmo

- Note: Gas and tolls are not reimbursed
