Role Description

The Stylist Assistant will support the stylist team by preparing workstations, maintaining a clean and organized salon environment, and assisting during services as required. Responsibilities include shampooing, detangling, and blow-drying hair while providing excellent customer service. The role also includes maintaining salon supplies and tools, scheduling appointments, and supporting team members during busy periods. This is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY, ideal for someone passionate about textured hair care and eager to grow professionally within the beauty industry.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in shampooing, detangling, and blow-drying textured hair types, including curly, coily, and wavy textures
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to create a welcoming environment for clients
• Strong organizational and time management skills to maintain a clean and efficient workspace
• Ability to follow instructions and effectively communicate with stylists and the team
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn about textured hair care products and techniques
• Passion for the beauty industry and an eagerness for hands-on learning and professional developmen
• Some prior experience in a salon setting or cosmetology training is preferred but not required.
