Curious Gardeners is a food-education-focused, play-based preschool serving children ages 2 through 5 in Portland, Oregon. We are located in Southeast Portland, just south of the Woodstock neighborhood and care for up to 12 children per day.

At Curious Gardeners, we strongly believe that every child has the right to a rich and joyful childhood. We get our hands dirty in the garden, run, climb, create art, cook, sing, dance, laugh, and engage in pretend play together.

Our in-home family child care is looking for an "Inclusion Support Aide" - someone to help with the background work involved in keeping our school running smoothly day-to-day approximately 30 hours per week. Main duties would include making and cleaning up from lunches and snacks, setting up our learning spaces and keeping them organized, setting up and breaking down our nap space, performing daily cleaning duties, and sometimes being a second set of eyes on the children. These duties are essential, as they allowing our lead teachers the time and space to focus on the children, particularly supporting those who need extra support to be fully included in our day.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is reliable, open to learning, communication, and feedback, and has a desire to always be working as a team toward running the school as smoothly as possible.

Additionally, in order to meet licensing requirements, our Inclusion Support Aide must attain the qualifications to be listed as an "Assistant II" and reach Step 5 on the Oregon Registry within two years- see details below. This position is funded on an annual basis depending on the number of children with high needs we are caring for in any given year.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in Oregon's Central Background Registry a plus! Background Check with Oregon's Central Background Registry required before employment begins.

Required trainings to be completed within 30 days of employment:

- Infant, Child, and Adult CPR and First Aid

- Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety

- Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect

- Child Care Food Handlers Training

- Safe Sleep Training

- Foundations for Learning
