  • Monitor and report on QA program performance metrics to senior leadership and the Board as required.
  • Build and mentor the QA team, fostering a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, and nuclear safety.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline required.
  • Preferred Education: Master’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 10 years of progressive experience in nuclear quality assurance, with demonstrated experience managing or directing a nuclear QA program.
  • Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Lead Auditor certification per NQA-1 or equivalent (e.g., ASQ CQA, CQE); active certification strongly preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, NQA-1-2017, and applicable NRC and DOE regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and improving nuclear QA programs from the ground up or in early-stage nuclear technology companies.
  • Proven track record conducting and leading complex technical audits, surveillances, and supplier assessments.
  • Experience managing Corrective Action Programs (CAP) and performing or overseeing root cause analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact effectively with regulatory agencies, executive leadership, and technical staff.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Proficiency with QA document management systems and quality management software.
  • Nice-to-Haves: Experience with advanced nuclear fuel cycle technologies, small modular reactors (SMRs), or nuclear recycling/reprocessing programs; familiarity with IAEA safeguards requirements; experience supporting NRC license applications or DOE project authorization processes.
