About the Role
As the Sales Manager for Curio’s Chain Retail Channel, you are a strategic, results-oriented leader, growing Curio’s revenue within our national chain sales channels. You have deep experience in consumer goods, a strong understanding of how chain retail partners plan and buy their retail assortment, and a proven track record of driving sales, building relationships, and executing account strategies. This role is critical to advancing our national chain retail footprint, delivering revenue growth, and ensuring excellence in execution across retail partners.
This is a sales role that requires balance between relationship building and sales analytics, resulting in revenue growth for our national chain retail partners. This is not a field sales, retail store sales, or door-to-door sales role. Success in this position relies on selling experience, strategic joint business planning, and the ability to articulate our brand story, connecting chain retail buyers to the benefits of partnering with Curio. This is an exciting opportunity to work with retailers such as Nordstrom, Dillards, Belk, Von Maur, Barnes & Noble and many more. This role does not manage Mass or Masstige retailers (e.g. Walmart, Costco, Ulta, Target, Drug, Grocery, etc.)

What You’ll Do
Chain Retail Account Management:
- Plan, execute, and manage joint business planning, resulting in Chain Retail and International revenue growth.
- Research, analyze, and manage the existing Chain Retail partnerships to implement programs that drive sales growth, retention, and profitability through data-based decision making.
- Build partnerships through frequent contact with chain retail buying teams. D
- Effectively present our brand story, educating and selling our chain retail buying partners on the benefit and value to having Curio brands as part of their assortment and merchandising strategy.
- Stay embedded in each Chain Retail account’s business plan and operational requirements so that Curio manages business appropriately both internally and externally, (i.e.) present new products and promotions at the appropriate time, assign discounts correctly, implement special handling, etc.
- Work with the Chain Retail account buying team to effectively merchandise Curio products in-store and properly educate the store staff to correctly sell the brand and products to their customers.
- Analyze sales data to ensure successful sell-through and identify opportunities for growth.
Effectively manage cross-functional communication to inform related functions of critical chain retail activity.
Review Sales Activity:
- Proactively review sales trends and data via sales reports to gather insights and drive necessary actions to achieve goals.
- Monitor, create, and advise sales/shipment expectations in weekly Flash Force sales meeting supportive to Monthly/Quarterly and Annual shipment deliveries.
- Develop new reports as needed working with senior management, Sales Operations, and IT department to help Curio personnel and sales force to better understand activity and meet sales and business objectives.
- Regularly analyze POS data, shipment reports, and promotional performance to inform recommendations and business reviews with Chain Retail partners.

What You Bring
Qualifications:
- 4 years of national chain retail sales experience in consumer-packaged goods
- Proven track record of selling that results in revenue growth in the national chain retail sales channel
- managing and expanding retail accounts through data-driven analysis, trend identification, and strategic decision-making.
- Experience in key account management, with success managing and expanding retail accounts through data-driven analysis, trend identification, and strategic decision-making.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience with trade promotion planning and chain retail partner marketing programs.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, expert in Excel.
Preferred:
- Experience with home fragrance, beauty, or lifestyle categories.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
