Role Description The Intake Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in San Diego, CA. This role is responsible for managing new patient referrals, gathering and verifying demographic, clinical, and insurance information, and ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate prior to dispensing medications. The Intake Coordinator communicates with patients, caregivers, prescribers, payers, and internal pharmacy teams to coordinate benefits verification, prior authorizations, and financial assistance when appropriate. Daily tasks include entering and updating information in pharmacy and intake systems, tracking referral status, resolving missing or incorrect information, and escalating issues to clinical or management staff as needed. The role also supports compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements while maintaining a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer-focused service.

Qualifications
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact effectively with patients, caregivers, providers, payers, and internal teams.
- Experience with Case Management, including coordinating referrals, tracking cases, and supporting patient access to therapy.
- Working knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately interpret prescriptions, clinical notes, and related documentation.
- Familiarity with Insurance processes, including eligibility checks, benefits verification, prior authorizations, and coordination with payers.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, infusion, or healthcare intake setting preferred.
- High attention to detail, data entry accuracy, and ability to manage multiple referrals and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with basic office and healthcare software (e.g., EMR/pharmacy systems, email, spreadsheets).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in healthcare administration, pharmacy tech, or related field is a plus.
