Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mason role based in the Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area. The Mason will lay brick, block, and stone for residential, commercial, and industrial projects, ensuring structures are plumb, level, and properly aligned. Responsibilities include mixing and placing mortar and concrete, constructing and repairing walls, facades, fireplaces, chimneys, patios, and other masonry features, and performing restoration and renovation work as needed. The Mason will read and interpret blueprints, follow site plans and specifications, operate hand and power tools safely, and work collaboratively with other team members and trades on job sites. Daily tasks also involve maintaining a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations, and meeting project quality and schedule requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong masonry skills, including laying and finishing brick, block, and stone with attention to structural integrity and appearance.
- Experience working with cement and concrete, including mixing, pouring, and finishing for foundations, slabs, and structural elements.
- Proficiency in brickwork and stonework for walls, facades, fireplaces, chimneys, and decorative features.
- Background in renovation and repair, including restoring existing masonry, repointing, and addressing structural or cosmetic issues.
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings and follow project specifications accurately.
- Knowledge of construction site safety practices and willingness to follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, standing, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to job sites in the Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area and ability to work full-time schedules.
- Previous experience as a Mason or in a related construction trade; apprenticeship or vocational training is a plus.
