ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking an Actuarial Intern to support Curative’s pricing and portfolio strategy team for a 10 week period. This is a unique opportunity for a current college student to gain hands-on experience combining traditional actuarial tasks (data science, experience studies, pricing) with exposure to the operational and strategic side of health insurance. You will work alongside senior actuaries and collaborate with teams like Sales, Underwriting, and Operations to help drive Curative’s growth.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pricing Support: Assist with developing pricing strategies and calculating group rates for new business and renewals based on experience, industry, and demographics.
- Data Analysis: Help analyze Curative data (e.g., claims and member interactions) to support data-driven strategy decisions.
- Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of reports on actuarial and financial metrics for executive review.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain communication with internal teams to support various actuarial projects and initiatives.
- Operational Support: Assist with high-priority underwriting requests, including actuarial troubleshooting and peer reviews.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Support day-to-day actuarial tasks and perform other duties as required to support the company’s expansion.

- Capable of independently driving multiple projects and workstreams
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with Excel, SQL, Python is preferred
- Experience in health insurance industry, data analysis or data management a plus
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases a plus
- While not required, progress toward Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation is considered a plus.
